Book Review:

Better When He’s Bad by Jay Crownover

This was my first read by author Jay Crownover though I’ve had several of her books on my TBR list for a while now.
BWHB is a good read if you’re looking for a bad boy fix!
Bax is fresh out of prison and on a mission to get some answers. Bax is not just a bad boy, he is a boy that is really good at being bad.
Then he meets Dovie, a woman with a surprising connection to his life and who doesn't fit in his world at all. Dovie has had her own share of darkness in her life, but yet she still remains shiny and bright something that Bax knows nothing about.
Can a man so determined to be bad find something worth being good for, or is he really just better when he's bad?

Better When He’s Bad is full of the bad boy book boyfriend material and plenty of steam to make your summer even hotter!

It’s the first book in the Welcome To The Point series with book number two Better When He’s Bold coming in January 2015.
We get a sneak peek at the end of BWHB and was excited to see that we get to see much more of the now familiar characters as Race gets his own story!

Barnes & Noble:

ICYMI Monday...

ICYMI Mondays…

Genre: Young Adult, Dystopian Future

By now we have all heard of Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games and Veronica Roth’s Divergent trilogies, but just in case you’re in a rut looking for your next dystopian fix with a great story line I have what you may be looking for.

In Case You Missed It….

Veronica Rossi’s Under The Never Sky series.
This series …  I could not stop reading. The first few chapters of the first book admittedly went a little slow for me but soon I was hooked. It shot past a few other series to land at my #2 spot for favorite Dystopian Trilogy. It’s an extremely close second place too

Aria, a Dweller, finds herself in a strange new place where she almost immediately comes into contact with a Outsider named Perry. All Aria knows about Outsiders is that they are fierce and known savages. All she needs is to figure out how to survive when everything she has known thus far is now no longer.
Perry, a Hunter for his own tribe, has little patience for dealing with the sheltered and frightened Aria as he has his own mission to carry out.
Both soon come to realize that they need each other in ways that they probably never expected and form an unlikely alliance.

Rossi has an AMAZING way of making the imagery in her books come to life. I could practically feel the aether in the air as I read through the stories. Phenomenal writing and a fantastic story.
The characters of Aria, Perry, and Roar are so well written, you find yourself smiling and falling in love with each of them with every turn of the page. And if you’re anything like me you’ll debate on which book boyfriend you want more in that moment Perry or Roar (I still vote both!)
It is a perfect example of a well written trilogy in my opinion. Each story picking up right where the previous left off and the end of the final book leaves you wanting more but immensely satisfied with where your “book friends” are left.
There are three full novels:

#1 Under The Never Sky

Barnes & Noble:

#2 Through The Ever Night

Barnes & Noble:

#3 Into The Still Blue

Barnes & Noble:

As well as two novellas (available in digital editions only):

#.5 Roar and Liv (which is a prequel novella set before Under The Never Sky)
Before there was Perry and Aria, there was Roar and Liv…

Barnes & Noble:

And #2.5 Brooke (best read between Through The Ever Night and Into The Still Blue)

Barnes & Noble:

Film rights have been optioned for Under The Never Sky and I’m sitting with all things crossed that this happens because it’s my second favorite Dystopian trilogy ever and I have the confidence that if done right… the imagery on the big screen would be breathtaking!

I rate this series as 5 massive stars!!

Hope you enjoy it!

Five Ways To Fall REVIEW (K.A. Tucker)

Review is in for FIVE WAYS TO FALL by author K.A. Tucker
Genre: New Adult/Romance

Five Ways To Fall is the fourth and final (insert sob) book in a series by K.A. Tucker. Personally I enjoyed each one immensely, but FWTF may just be my new favorite out of the bunch.
It centers on the story of Ben Morris, whom we have met in the previous books. He’s a gorgeous naturally charming former bouncer ready to start at his new career.  What he doesn’t expect is that what happens in Cancun, doesn’t necessarily stay in Cancun, especially not when his path runs smack into a purple haired young woman with a knack for getting herself into trouble. As a former football player with a seemingly determined future laid ahead of him, Ben has had his own system for maintaining his distance from relationships going for years now, that is until he meets…
Reese McKay.
Reese is spunk and sass in a smart mouthed package that I fell in love with. She has a reputation for finding herself in trouble and the record of always getting caught. From the start it seems that Reese has always had trouble finding men that actually stick in her life, but little does she know she may have met her match when she finds more than one that do stick in more than one way.
In addition to getting glimpses of former characters that we have  met and gotten to know in the three previous books, we are introduced into some new faces and personalities that make FWTF even that much more entertaining. I laughed so much reading this book that by the time I read the last page my cheeks hurt a little from smiling so much.
Tucker did a great job in bringing this group of friends to life for me and I will miss them…until the next time I reread any of the books.

If you’re interested in starting the series from the beginning (which I always recommend) here is the order of books with links! (Each can be read as a stand-alone as well but you may enjoy each book a little bit more if you read them in a series order)

Welcome, Welcome!

I am your friendly BookNerdian World Guide. Welcome to my blog.
Aside from reading books and writing some of my own, I love to talk about books. I tend to "geek out" and I own every bit of my "book nerd"-istic qualities (so prepare yourself). So many books I have read now sit on my shelf, often reread and re-loved, as they hold some of my dearest friends. No matter where I am I always have a book nearby or a notebook handy.
I read pretty much every genre and so there should be lots to talk about and something for everyone. In addition to sharing my thoughts, I hope to hear what you all are reading and loving (or not loving- it's okay we all have those books that we may not love). I want this to be a great community and interchange of thoughts and ideas so please jump in and get involved!
I have several reviews on the way and I hope to start posting things in the coming weeks!
Please stay tuned and I hope to see you back again!

Until then...
Go get lost in a good book!
