ICYMI Monday...

ICYMI Mondays…

Genre: Young Adult, Dystopian Future

By now we have all heard of Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games and Veronica Roth’s Divergent trilogies, but just in case you’re in a rut looking for your next dystopian fix with a great story line I have what you may be looking for.

In Case You Missed It….

Veronica Rossi’s Under The Never Sky series.
This series …  I could not stop reading. The first few chapters of the first book admittedly went a little slow for me but soon I was hooked. It shot past a few other series to land at my #2 spot for favorite Dystopian Trilogy. It’s an extremely close second place too

Aria, a Dweller, finds herself in a strange new place where she almost immediately comes into contact with a Outsider named Perry. All Aria knows about Outsiders is that they are fierce and known savages. All she needs is to figure out how to survive when everything she has known thus far is now no longer.
Perry, a Hunter for his own tribe, has little patience for dealing with the sheltered and frightened Aria as he has his own mission to carry out.
Both soon come to realize that they need each other in ways that they probably never expected and form an unlikely alliance.

Rossi has an AMAZING way of making the imagery in her books come to life. I could practically feel the aether in the air as I read through the stories. Phenomenal writing and a fantastic story.
The characters of Aria, Perry, and Roar are so well written, you find yourself smiling and falling in love with each of them with every turn of the page. And if you’re anything like me you’ll debate on which book boyfriend you want more in that moment Perry or Roar (I still vote both!)
It is a perfect example of a well written trilogy in my opinion. Each story picking up right where the previous left off and the end of the final book leaves you wanting more but immensely satisfied with where your “book friends” are left.
There are three full novels:

#1 Under The Never Sky

Barnes & Noble:

#2 Through The Ever Night

Barnes & Noble:

#3 Into The Still Blue

Barnes & Noble:

As well as two novellas (available in digital editions only):

#.5 Roar and Liv (which is a prequel novella set before Under The Never Sky)
Before there was Perry and Aria, there was Roar and Liv…

Barnes & Noble:

And #2.5 Brooke (best read between Through The Ever Night and Into The Still Blue)

Barnes & Noble:

Film rights have been optioned for Under The Never Sky and I’m sitting with all things crossed that this happens because it’s my second favorite Dystopian trilogy ever and I have the confidence that if done right… the imagery on the big screen would be breathtaking!

I rate this series as 5 massive stars!!

Hope you enjoy it!

Happy Reading!!
