Review... COME BACK TO ME by Mila Gray

Book Blurb:
Home on leave in sunny California, Marine and local lothario Kit Ryan finds himself dangerously drawn to his best friend's sister, Jessa - the one girl he can't have.

But Kit's not about to let a few obstacles stand in his way and soon Jessa's falling for his irresistible charms.

What starts out as a summer romance of secret hook-ups and magical first times quickly develops into a passionate love affair that turns both their worlds upside down.

When summer's over and it's time for Kit to redeploy, neither Kit nor Jessa are ready to say goodbye. Jessa's finally following her dreams and Kit's discovered there's someone he'd sacrifice everything for.

Jessa's prepared to wait for Kit no matter what. But when something more than distance and time rips them apart they're forced to decide whether what they have is really worth fighting for.

A breathtaking, scorchingly hot story about love, friendship, family and finding your way back from the edge of heartbreak

I have been dying to read this book after it was recommended to me and it did not disappoint.
You know that feeling when you start a book and instantly know that you're going to end up crying at least once? Well that was the feeling I had just reading the first chapter.
Instead of leaving us with a cliffhanger at the end of the book, we start the book with an intense opening that leaves you teetering between desperately wanting to know and painfully turning the page knowing that you're that much closer to the answer.
"Who is it?"

I loved this story!
If you are a fan of first loves, second chance loves, hot guys in uniforms, with a dash of a forbidden love... then I think you'll love this book.
Jessa and Kit have known each other for years, both of them hiding their ever growing feelings for one another especially recently, find themselves unwilling to ignore them any longer even though Kit is only on leave for one month. In the beginning they are forced to keep their feelings a secret... I found myself wanting to yelling at everyone who threatened their love.It was a a beautiful story that I loved because more than anything it just felt natural.
The author, Mila Gray, seemed to perfectly capture those feelings of a  perfect summer romance. She wrote both perspectives so fluidly that it's pretty close to impossible not to...
  1.  fall in love with Kit
  2. remember you and your friends giggling and gossiping about that guy you adored from afar (courtesy of Jessa and Didi)

If you could have the perfect month of first real like, first love to be followed with a year of uncertainty if that love would continue to grow, knowing that one moment... one second... one action... one choice... could rip you both apart and you would be helpless to stop it, would you choose love anyway?
Yeah. It's a good one folks!

Aside from the love story, there's also theme of the effects war can have on a person and on their families as they come back home. It wasn't dark and heavy, but it was a honest approach to the many varying degrees of PTSD. I greatly enjoyed getting the perspectives of those left behind, and those fighting to come back.  I can honestly say I enjoyed the book from beginning to end.
