Double REVIEW... Wicked Weekend & Reckless Nights by Karen Erickson

*I received a copy of both books in exchange for an honest review*

What happens in Vegas…could be a fantasy come true.

Between nursing school and starting their careers, Reagan, Andrea and Natalie have had no time for dating. After saving up for a special vacation, they’re on their way to Vegas for a long-awaited weekend of fun, sun, gambling and partying.

When their luggage goes missing, an impromptu shopping trip leads them to James, who makes them an unusual offer—to be part of the female scenery at his boss’s upcoming party. Not just any scenery, but women who are pretty in a real way, not the nipped, tucked and dyed Hollywood version.

Accept a “private party” invitation from a complete stranger? These ladies weren't born yesterday. Yet before “no thanks” crosses their lips, Reagan discovers who James’s boss really is: Declan Carter, an actor she’s crushed on for, well, forever. Now she’s determined to be the eye candy who catches Declan’s eye. No matter what it takes…

Warning: Epic shopping trip results in meeting hot men. It is recommended that all credit cards be placed out of reach before reading.

Sometimes dream crushes do come true.

Vegas Nights, Book 1

Reagan can’t believe her luck—and not in a good way. One minute she’s hanging out with her friends at an exclusive party in Las Vegas. The next, she’s attracted the attention of a famous actor. Not just any actor. Declan Carter, the man on which she used to—okay, might still—have a fangirl crush. Whose blue eyes leave her embarrassingly tongue tied.

All Declan wants is to meet a nice, normal woman who won’t use him as a stepping stone to fame. Something about Reagan tells him she could be that rare woman, and he follows his instinct to invite her back to his suite—where they proceed to have wild monkey sex. All. Night. Long.

What was supposed to be one night of no-regrets sex stretches out into a blissful weekend of two people who can’t get enough of each other. But when the glamour of Sin City wears off, they’re standing on the edge of a once-in-a-lifetime chance to turn a weekend fling into something lasting. Will they take the jump?

This Book Nerd Says:
I read both of these books back to back. They were quick reads full of fun and steamy heat.
WICKED WEEKEND is somewhat of a prologue to the series. In it we get an introduction to a trio of best friends. Reagan, Andrea, and Natalie have just arrived in Vegas after a hellish trip to get there. All the girls are looking for a weekend of escape from the realities of working long hours as nurses. Determined not to waste a minute of their time, including any wasted seconds waiting for their lost luggage to turn up, they decide to go shopping...
It's that shopping trip that changes anything the girls would have planned to do as they meet with the inviting (slightly pushy but still endearing) and mysterious James. James insists they come along to a party hosted by none other than Declan Carter. Declan is an actor that had long ago become the crush of Reagan. She may not view herself as 'the hot friend' but she's determined to show up to that party and maybe catch Declan's eye even if it means doing something so uncharacteristically RECKLESS...
...segue into RECKLESS NIGHTS...
Declan is burnt out on the typical types of girls he usually is bombarded with at these types of parties...especially now that he's determined to salvage his career by focusing on taking his next role seriously. But when Reagan shows up she has his complete and undivided attention. What was supposed to be one night between them turns into a weekend neither of them want to see end. Declan seems to have found the one woman who doesn't want anything from him except HIM.

These stories were fun reads. While WILD WEEKEND gives us a few personality snapshots of each of the girls, RECKLESS NIGHTS was all about Reagan and Declan. Granted I may be biased because I've only read about these two in detail, I'm kinda thinking they're my favorite. Sure there was insta-love (you can't chalk it up to any other type) but IT WAS FUN. Sometimes you just need a read that makes you fan yourself a bit and say wow that was a fun mini-escape. I loved that Declan loved Reagan's body and seemed to even take her own self-conscious worries and toss them to the wind.
It was a fast read and wrapped a little quickly so it did leave me wanting to know more about them and how things would progress. I'm not sure if we'd see more in a future book in the series but I would love some follow up on the couple!

I am giving Wicked Weekend 3 Stars and Reckless Nights 3.5 Stars
