Having to spend the summer with his family gets exponentially better when Gabriel Walker spots his next door neighbor. Her dark hair and curves keeps him watching from afar... at least until he decides he needs to make a move.
Unable to resist her, Gabriel quickly realizes that Lucy is something very different than he expected and he doesn't even know the half of it.
Forgetting her should be easier than it is but Lucy continues dominating his thoughts and influencing his actions and he doesn't know what it all means. not even when she shows up in his classroom. He doesn't know what it means but he's tired of denying himself.

Playing the role of the rich girl should be easy enough... but then Lucy's heart decided to get involved. Saying goodbye to Gabe was hard enough but then he shows up  at college and she's faced with either coming clean or hiding the truth to steal as much time with him as possible.

Graphic Made By Me :)

This book was such a fun read especially for the summer.
Is it going to change your life? No.
But will it make you smile? Absolutely.
Reading In The Dark gave me the same kind of thrill that I get from watching Grease... well not the exact same kind *insert a lot more steamy Rizzo scenes, minus all the synchronized dances and songs*. But like Grease, In The Dark was full of all the fun that is a summer love story; A summer love story that leads to so much more, and aren't those the best kind?
I loved all the fun aspects that were interwoven. I liked that Lucy's inner Luciana gave a different flavor to the book making her character fun and relatable. I really loved the way Gabe loved Lucy for being everything that Lucy was, every curve and all. In The Dark definitely highlights Gabe as he comes into his own, making his own decisions and finding his own happiness, and that was a great journey to see.
In fact all of the characters' maturity was pretty spot on with my expectations and I loved that the drama spots didn't lag on.

I enjoyed the peeks at the relationship between Gabe, Shep, and Tristan so much that I bumped up the first book on my TBR list because I want to know all the details of Shep and Jade's story. It was a great standalone read if you haven't read the first book so you don't have to hesitate to jump into this one but you may be rushing to one click the first book like me!

Now she supposedly belongs to the ultra rich, extremely gorgeous Shep Prescott. He could have anything he wants yet he seems to be in hot pursuit of her. No matter how rude, how snarky, how impossible she acts, it doesn't stop him. More like her horrible behavior seems to make him want her more.

When she finds herself starting to fall for him, Jade's confused. There's more to Shep than the carefree rich charmer he portrays. No way could he want a serious relationship with her...or could he?

Despite her reluctance, Alex finds herself quickly involved with Tristan. Underneath that playboy exterior is a good guy, a sweet and sexy guy who she is undoubtedly falling for.
