Jamie wants his first show to succeed. He didn’t count on the lead actress injuring herself and pulling out last minute. When he meets Bella, who looks exactly like the actress he just lost, Jamie is convinced that the solution to his problem is simple—convince the college professor to act in his show.

But a misplaced sext, almost kiss, and crazy co-actress later, what started out as a simple solution turns into a problem of its own...

5 STAR ARC Review... Striking Chords by Kristen Kehoe

He’s the best at his game…until he gets played.

Felipe Rojas is no stranger to winning. The number one player on his college soccer team, Felipe holds all the records for scoring, on the field and off. Until the girl he falls for turns out to be taken, and he realizes he’s nothing more than a nightly stand-in.

As his personal life crashes, so does his game, and Felipe finds himself straining to get back not only his identity, but the sport that gave him everything. And then he meets India Cole: the stranger who kisses him and brings him back to life.

It’s a kiss the redirects his attention from a girl he doesn’t want to want, to a girl he isn’t sure he should want, with her curtain of silky black hair, her quick smile, and her bright green eyes that are just a little haunted.

India didn’t mean to kiss Felipe, it was simply one of those impulsive moments that her mother was always warning her about. Too late, she realizes why. Kissing Felipe was spur of the moment, but all the repercussions afterwards are permanent: like the way she can’t stop thinking of him, wanting him, believing in him. Ahem, kissing him.

But life isn’t so easy, and karma is never so nice. Secrets are kept, decisions are made, and hearts that are broken must learn to heal before these lovers can be together.

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
This Book Nerd Says:
If you're a regular follower of my blog or Instagram page I'm sure you'll recognize the name Kristen Kehoe... there's good reason for that: I'm a mega fan girl. That being said I was thrilled to be able to read a copy of her newest book Striking Chords early. Striking Chords is a spinoff standalone of her VERT series books and I can wholeheartedly agree that it stands remarkably strong on its own for new readers (while also saying that if you've read her Vert Series you'll be thrilled to see those familiar faces pop up in the background).

I really truly and honestly think that the synopsis gives all the background you need to know before you walk into this book. So I'm going to go ahead and jump right into my thoughts. Get ready... you're about to be hit with a full on fangirl wave of love.

Kristen writes some of the most amazing book boyfriends ever (like ever!). So walking into this book I already had a slight inkling that I was going to fall head over heels for Felipe. I fell over and over and over for this one y'all. There's a lot of popularity with the alpha men in the romance community but I always love a beta guy. Felipe is the best kind of beta (don't get me wrong, he knows when to be alpha where when it counts) and his soft heart had me aching for him to find the love he deserved to be shown.
He's mine. I'm staking claim. You heard it here first.

But something else got me going...India.
I love her. I love her. I love her.
And guess what? I fell in love with her even before I fell for Felipe.
She's smart, driven, witty, fun... and broken. I wanted to be her best friend almost instantly. Her heart has been bruised in such a life altering way that you can't help but to cheer her on to find redemption not from anyone else but herself.
The balance they found with each other is a ode to the friendship they forged first. Both things rounded this story out so well I wasn't left wishing or wanting for more or less of anything. It was that well done.

Up until yesterday VERTICAL LINES was my top favorite book by Kristen Kehoe. Brooks and Jordan held an undisputable spot on the top of my list... well Felipe and India just changed the game. I'm going have to call it a tie on this one.
I plan on getting a copy of this book on my shelf ASAP because I just need to hold it in my hands!

I'm giving it a top recommendation and a full 5 STARS!

I'll just be over here crossing my fingers that we'll get a dose of Gus sooner than later... because swoon... just all the swoon....

RELEASE DAY... Hold My Breath by Ginger Scott + Excerpt & GIveaway!!

We're celebrating the release of HOLD MY BREATH by Ginger Scott! Check out the excerpt, teasers, and giveaway below!

NA Contemporary Romance-Stand Alone
Scheduled to release: November 18, 2016

Fractions of seconds can do lots of damage. One decision can ruin lives. A blink can be tragic. And loving a Hollister…can hurt like hell.

I would know.

They say the average person can hold their breath under water for two full minutes when pushed to the extremes. Will Hollister has been holding his for years. The oldest of two elite swimming brothers, Will was always a dominant force in the water. But in life, he preferred to let his younger
brother Evan be the one to shine.

Evan got the girl, and Will…he got to bury all of the secrets. A brother’s burden, the weight of it all nearly left him to drown.

The daughter of two Olympians, my path was set the day my fingertips first touched water. My future was as crystal clear as the lane I dominated in the pool—swim hard, win big, love a Hollister.

My life with Evan burned bright. He gave me arms to come home to, and a smile that fooled the world into believing everything was perfect. But it was Will who pushed me. Will…who really knew me.

And when all of the pieces fell, it was Will who started to pick them up.

In the end, the only thing that matters are those few precious seconds—and what we decide to do while we still have them in our grasp.

“I need you to stay, Will,” she says. “No matter what…if you lose, if I lose. If this gets hard, whatever this is. I need you to stay until we figure it out. And even then, I just think…”

She lifts her head, and I cup her face in my hands, her eyes locking on mine.
“I think I just need you to stay,” she says.

I stare at her for several seconds, holding my breath, my mind racing with all of my demons, with everyone else’s demons, too. I fear none of it is possible. I’m going to break her heart. Those demons—they’ll destroy her.

But I can’t give her up. I need her to stay, too. Even though I can’t promise it; even though I shouldn’t, I say exactly what she needs to hear.

I let myself believe it for the breath it takes to speak.

“Okay,” I say, bringing her lips to mine, kissing her softly then closing my eyes as her forehead rests against mine. “Okay,” I whisper again.
I may have to break this promise, but for right now…for right now, I mean it.
